Frequently Asked Questions

What are the requirements (i.e. am I eligible to the EUCAIS Master Programme)?

The EUCAIS Programme is open to all post-graduates (Bachelor, Master, PhD students), young professionals and academics (lecturers, assistant professors) coming from Central Asia (Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and the Chinese Province of Xinjiang).

Which documents do I need for applying?

The following documents are necessary for applying to the programme:

  • Letter of motivation adressed to the Directors of the Programme
  • CV
  • Copies of Academic Certificate(s) (translated into English if possible) and copies of other documents related to your academic or professional experience

How should I send the documents and in which format?

The documnets may all be sent in WORD or PDF format per e-mail to the following recipient: info(at)eucais.org. The original documents will then have to be presented during the selection interview that will take place in or two of the Central Asian capitals.

Is the EUCAIS programme running in English?

Yes, English is the working language of the EUCAIS Programme.

Which level of English knowledge am I expected to possess in order to participate in the EUCAIS Programme?

Proficiency in both written and oral English is expected. Eventual documents attesting the English knowledge are welcome though not compulsory for the application procedure. Language skills will be tested during the selection interviews in the Central Asian Capitals.

Which is the timetable and how long does the Programm last?

The EUCAIS Programme lasts from Summer 2010 to March 2012 and altogether three Semesters, each Semester lasting approx. 6 months.

How many courses am I supposed to take to be eligible for the Master Degree?

The three courses in the first semester. Plus one compulsory course both in the second and the third semester, plus two optional courses in the second and one optional course in the third semester.

How many ECTS does the EUCAIS Programme award?

The successfull completion of the programme provides an overall amount of 60 ECTS.

The EUCAIS Programme is an online Master Programme. What does it mean?

The courses are presented by the relevant professor at the beginning of each semester by the workshop. During the semester the participant will refer to the online course content, provided by the Programme´s Learning Platform (ILIAS). Contact among students and between students and professor take place online on ILIAS through e.mailing, forum discussions, tests, essays, etc.
