Curriculum

The curriculum of the EU-Central Asia in the International System has been divided into three semesters:

1st semester

Three compulsory introductory courses will provide the necessary multidisciplinary background with regard to the development of the EU system, the international economy and law and, finally, the relations between the EU and Central Asia.

2nd and 3rd semester

During the second and third semesters participants will have to participate both in compulsory and optional courses. The optional courses will give the participants the opportunity to study a specific area of interest in depth. In order to meet the requirements for completion of the programme, each participant must follow one compulsory course and at least one optional course both in the second semester and third semester.

Additional Offers

In addition to the course programme participants will have the opportunity to participate in additional activities which shall provide them with the practical knowledge and skills necessary for their professional development via the EUCAIS internet platform.





The Project "EU-Central Asia in the International System" (EUCAIS) is organised with significant funding from the VolkswagenFoundation and financially supported by the Lifelong Learning Programme JEAN MONNET of the European Commission.

The Volkswagen Foundation is an independent non-profit organization and has been funding research projects in all disciplines since 1962. Within the framework of changing funding initiatives, it gives specific impetus for the scientific community.

The Jean Monnet Programme in the Lifelong Learning Programme stimulates teaching, research and reflection on European integration at higher education institutions throughout the world. Since its inception, the Jean Monnet Programme has been built on the strict respect of the principle of academic autonomy and freedom.
